Essential Duties and Responsibilities as a Fabricator

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings and assembly instructions
  • Accurately measure the dimensions of each piece that’s being worked on with rulers, measuring tapes, squares, etc.
  • Mark spots to cut, and use tools to manipulate steel, plastic or other materials by cutting, hammering, bending or grinding
  • Place each product component in its appropriate spot as noted in the blueprints for proper alignment
  • Ability to use plasma cutting and oxy-acetylene torch to heat and cut materials
  • Utilize fabrication machines, such as grinders, milling machines, horizontal band saws, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials
  • Setup, utilize and maintain welding equipment including MIG- GMAW and TIG- GTAW
  • Make templates for common work tasks when conducting repetitive motions for the fabrication process to ensure a set standard of work quality
  • Assembles and tests electrical/electronic products and sub-assemblies per accepted safety, quality and productivity standards and protocols.
  • Records and submits productivity and quality metrics to the Team leader or Production Supervisor
  • Maintains his/her work area and tools in an orderly manner daily.
  • Plays a pivotal role in maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Observes all safety rules and provides suggestions to improve safety and wears proper PPE.
  • Maintains his/her work area and tools in an orderly manner daily.
  • Completes all essential duties as well as the applicable paperwork and computer entries on a timely basis.

Technical Proficiencies and Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or a GED equivalent
  • Completion of a technical trade program or training program a plus
  • At least two years of experience in fabrication role
  • Welding certificate and experience welding 304 stainless steel
  • Ability to comprehend blueprints and work specifications
  • Physical ability to lift 75 pounds or more
