Chelsea Piers, Manhattan's premier destination for sports and entertainment, is located on a 30-acre waterfront between 17th and 23rd Streets along the Hudson River. The Field House at Chelsea Piers is Manhattan's top location for gymnastics, team sports, and league play. Facilities include the largest gymnastics training center in New York City, two hardwood basketball courts, two artificial-turf playing fields, four batting cages, dance studios, and a climbing wall designed especially for children, teens, and adult beginners.
Chelsea Piers Field House is looking for a full-time Office Administrator. This person will work Monday-Friday and would start as soon as possible.
Primary Responsibilities
- Main Office Administrative Duties
- Order all office supplies
- Answer general phone line when other representatives are busy
- Maintain and organize all office storage areas
- Organize and track all accident reports
- Sort mail and paychecks to employees
- Monitor daily voicemails to respond or forward as appropriate
- Answer the General Manager’s phone when she is unavailable
- Serve as an additional Manager on Duty during peak times
- Assist with Front Desk and Batting cage staff schedules
- Alongside General Manager, track Inventory of the below and notify appropriate teams to reorder:
- Merchandise for sale
- Employee uniforms
- League & Team Shirts (CPSC, Evolution, Youth & Adult Leagues)
- Class medals
- Birthday Party Paper Goods
- Data Entry for our HR Software (Paycom), include reminders and trainings for:
- I9 forms
- CPR & First Aid Certificates
- SafeSport Mandatory Trainings
- Sexual Harassment Mandatory Trainings
- Quarterly Reviews
- Data Entry for Bills/Receipts
- Invoice Submission/coding bills for Corporate Credit Card
- Collecting and uploading credit card receipts
- Assist in weekly payroll functions as needed
- Data Entry for Teams:
- Register our Travel soccer teams for leagues and events
- Monitor TeamSnap accounts for all travel programs
- Manage employee locker room including:
- Assigning new lockers/emptying lockers
- Physical monthly inventory of empty lockers
- Assist Scholarship Fund Director as a point of Contact for Chelsea Piers Scholarship Fund including:
- Receiving and logging all applications
- Answering any parent questions regarding documents and deadlines
- Notifying applicants of acceptance or denial
- Communicating the list of accepted individuals and programs to the registration team
- Coordinating with the Controller for payment from the fund to Chelsea Piers or other organizations receiving grants
Qualifications
- A.S. degree minimum, B.A. a plus
- Experience in customer service a plus
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Superior Organization and multi-tasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel

Paid Time Off Chelsea Piers supports a healthy work/life balance. After sixty (60) days of employment, you will be eligible for fifteen (15) days of paid vacation (prorated in your first year of employment). After five (5) years of service, you will be eligible for twenty (20) paid vacation days per year.
Safe/Sick Time Chelsea Piers will provide you with 1 (one) hour of safe/sick time for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum accrual of fifty-six (56) hours per calendar year.

Tuition Assistance Chelsea Piers supports employees continuing education. After one (1) year of full-time service, you will be eligible to receive tuition assistance paid by Chelsea Piers in the amount of $750 annually for your first five (5) years of full-time employment and $1,500 annually after five (5) years of full-time employment. The education, instruction, or training must be job-related and/or or have the potential to strengthen your skills/knowledge and enhance your performance.
TransitChek Program You will be eligible to participate in the TransitChek program, which allows for the pre-tax purchase of MetroCards or TransitChek debit cards that are used to purchase commuting tickets and passes from transit operators throughout the metropolitan area.
Employee Referral Program We encourage our employees to refer their qualified family and friends to work at Chelsea Piers. For any referral who is hired and stays at Chelsea Piers a minimum of sixty (60) days, you will receive a referral bonus of $500 for full-time hires (minimum 35 hours per week) and $250 for part-time/non-seasonal hires (minimum twenty (20) hours per week).
Upon your start date, you will also receive an Employee Venue Usage sheet detailing other exciting employee perks and discounts provided throughout the complex.
