In addition, you will provide input for training materials, ensure that standard operating procedures and data protection activities comply with Mondelēz International policies and the law, analyze and report on exceptions and offer recommendations for process improvements, and lead the sustainable continuous improvement process for the team.

The Finance and Compliance Specialist, NA Benefits will be responsible for the Benefits Funding & Banking Arrangements, Financial Reporting, and Accounting Processes for Mondelēz HR Benefits. This position includes invoice processing, vendor management, and support special projects related to the Benefits Administrative Programs.
The Finance and Compliance Specialist, NA Benefits will manage the day-to-day functions related to US and Canada Benefits Compliance and assist in ensuring the US and Canadian Benefit Plans are in full compliance with federal, state, and provincial laws. This includes, but is not limited to managing benefit plan audits, IRS, Department of Labor, and any required state and Canadian government agency filings, and that disclosures and notification requirements are met in a complete and timely manner to avoid penalties and fines.

Main Responsibilities
Process funding for the US and Canada Benefits/Retirement Programs for active and retiree populations.
Process HR Benefits invoices and other payments for government entities.
Request and manage purchase orders in COUPA and SAP systems.
Respond to vendor questions regarding invoices and payments, and act as the main contact for vendor related issues with internal teams and vendors.
Manage the vendor onboarding process to Mondelēz systems via Supplier Central.
Reconcile SAP ledger accounts and analyze data.
Manage the ERISA Plan Audits and other external/internal audits (as needed) in a proficient, timely, and responsive manner.
Manage the 5500 filings as well as ensuring that the benefit plans “Summary Annual Reports and Annual Funding Notices” are communicated on a timely basis. Based on audit results and directives, this position supports the efforts to ensure any corrective actions are implemented from both a system, and workload perspective.
Manage the ERISA appeals process for both voluntary and administrative committee appeals from start to finish and ensure comprehensive understanding of the underlying issue that have given rise to the appeal. For each appeal, this position may be responsible for all correspondence with the appealing participant to ensure that the appeal has been addressed within the government required timeframe after Mondelēz has been notified of the initial appeal. This position also serves as Secretary to the Administrative Committee and manage all appeals that are presented to this committee.
Assists with Compliance of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) to ensure compliance will all aspects of the Act including the existence of applicable Business Associate Agreements for all applicable vendors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required
3 or more years of experience in Human Resources / Benefits Administration, Accounting / Finance, Benefits Compliance, or General/Basic background in Functional area
Strong technical skills required (i.e. Access, Excel, and Word)
Experience with SAP, COUPA, and Workday is ideal
Self-starter with process and project management experience
Strong communication skills (written and verbal), organizational and leadership skills
Detailed-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work efficiently, multi-task and deliver high quality results
Solutions oriented
Ability to manage tight deadlines
Hybrid role (2 days a week in the office)
