Rural Metro Morristown, NJ 07960

Job Description:

Firefighter Airport

IMMEDIATELY HIRING! AIRPORT FIREFIGHTERS FULL-TIME Opportunity

$25.75 per hour

We are hiring Airport Firefighters with a passion for firefighting combined with the drive to succeed and deliver high-quality care.

Job Summary:

This is skilled firefighting work in combating, extinguishing, and preventing aircraft, structural, ground equipment and other fires: in answering emergency calls, and in operation and maintenance of fire department equipment, apparatus and station facilities. Work involves training for and participating in duties of protecting life and property by firefighting and rescue activities, usually under close supervision. Employees of this class are required to learn and participate in the operation of apparatus and the performance of hazardous tasks under such handicaps as smoke and cramped surroundings. Although firefighting and rescue work are the most difficult and responsible areas of activity, the major portion of time is spent in routine duties in the care and maintenance of fire department property and equipment, training and studying methods, techniques, and organization. Specific orders and directions are given by Lieutenants or Battalion Chiefs, but the work requires initiative and a thorough individual understanding of firefighting methods.

MinimumRequired Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with Company policy. DUI within the last 5 years is disqualifying.
  • Able to work any shift assigned, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Available to work overtime as assigned and as needed on an emergency basis.
  • Must meet local standards pertaining to qualifications, training and/or eligibility for hiring placement or promotion.

Credentials/Licenses:
  • State issued or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or (ProBoard) certifications as a minimum: Firefighter I & II, Hazardous Materials-Operations.
  • NFPA 1003
  • NFPA 472
  • State issued or National Registered EMT-B or EMT-P certification.
  • Current ACLS certification required if applicant is an EMT-P.
  • Current AHA CPR/AED certification.
