The Sporting Shoppe, located on The Preserve At Boulder Hills, is looking to add a team member who is passionate about fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors. Located on 3,500 beautiful acres in Richmond, RI, the Sporting Shoppe possesses the longest indoor shooting range in America along with some of the best products relating to outdoor sporting activities, firearms and accessories.

As a Fishing Pro Sales Associate, you will greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, assist with customer service, help with merchandising and cashing out customers using our POS system. Great position for summer employment or retirement job!

Responsibilities:

• Welcoming and engaging with customers as they enter your department
• Assessing customers’ needs and suggesting solutions to their problems
• Working with cash registers and processing payments
• Setting and attaining sales goals
• Giving customers advice about sales and promotions
• Using upselling techniques to increase store sales
• Recommending the best products to customers
• Cleaning and restocking the store throughout the day, before opening and after closing
• Giving safe and knowledgeable information on outdoor gear and fishing equipment

Qualifications:

• Strong fishing and hunting knowledge REQUIRED
• Knowledgeable about local fresh water, salt water, and fly fishing
• Retail sales experience
• Customer service experience
• Computer literate
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed
• Must be comfortable around firearms, will work primarily on 2nd floor with outdoor gear but firearms and ammunition sold on first floor along with indoor range.
• Must be 18 years of age
