POSITION AT A GLANCE:

  • Perks: We provide heavy-duty tools such as trucks and car lifts, theres no working on your back over here! We also provide 40 hours per yr. in mechanical training for the vehicles and manufacturers that we work on!   • Pay: $30/hour
  • Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 12pm - 8:30pm
  • Location: Albany, NY

Requires: Must be able to supply automotive hand tools; Coke Northeast will supply all heavy-duty tools such as trucks and car lifts
- Class A license but if you don't have it, Coke Northeast will provide training to help you obtain a Class A license
- 1+ yrs of experience in auto mechanics and heavy equipment repair - will be working on Diesel Truck Engines
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Must be able to meet company motor vehicle records standards
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification desirable; company will assist with getting ASE certifications
- Basic proficiency with computer applications; tablets are provided for maintenance documentation instead of paper
- Demonstrated automotive, mechanical, and technical aptitude; employees will be provided 40 hours per year in mechanical training for the vehicles and manufacturers that we work on
- Working knowledge of the methods, equipment, and techniques used in vehicle repair and maintenance
- Must have the ability to occasionally lift, push and pull 50+ pounds, reach above head height, squat, kneel, bend and reach

Job Description:

The Fleet Technician is responsible for performing repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles to include diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, forklifts and automobiles. The Fleet Technician is tasked with maintaining the fleet according to DOT and other regulatory requirements to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation of all company vehicles and equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and perform repairs on company fleet vehicles
  • Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance
  • Test equipment to ensure proper functioning and performance
  • Respond to service calls
  • Pick up and deliver vehicles
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas at all times
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in auto mechanics including heavy equipment repair; company will provide on-going job training
  • Class-A Commercial Driver’s License preferred; if no CDL-A, Coke Northeast will provide training to receive a CDL-A
  • Must be able to meet company motor vehicle records standards
