The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. This personalized involvement makes the work of the Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Marinette operates a thrift store, and a food pantry and provides Advocacy & Education programming to those in need in our community.

Job Title: Pantry Outreach Coordinator – Americorps Member

Reports to: Store Manager

Job Location: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Marinette, 1619 Main St, Marinette, WI

Status: Fulltime, 35-40 hours - *TERM IS FROM SEPTEMBER 2023 - AUGUST 2024 WITH OPTION FOR RENEWAL AFTER TERM COMPLETION.*

General Description:

The person we are looking for to fulfill this role has excellent leadership skills and a knack for attention to detail. We love our organization and take pride in it and what we do. You should too. You will be one of the leaders at the forefront of motivating and leading our volunteer team at St. Vincent de Paul Marinette. The focus of this job will heavily reside in the food pantry. However, we work together as a team and pitch in where it is needed, so an understanding of all of our programs may also be necessary.

Our food pantry is the largest in Marinette, Menominee and Oconto Counties and growing more and more each month. The perfect candidate for this position has a passion to help, ability to think on their feet and isn’t afraid to make connections in our community to build awareness of our mission and asking other businesses and nonprofits to donate or collaborate to our cause.

Job Responsibilities include:

● Supervise our AMAZING team of volunteers

● Maintain a dignity-based experience in our food pantry

● Maintain accurate records to keep in compliance with grant funding

● Submit reports in a timely manner

● Help take in donations, which sometimes can be heavy

● Help arrange food drives throughout the community with the help of local groups, clubs, etc.

● Assist in facilitating food pick ups at various locations based on donor and volunteer availability

● Address customer and client concerns

● Work face-to-face with our neighbors in need to learn their story and connect them with the resources they need to break the cycle of poverty

● Assist in marketing the mission of our pantry to the community, businesses and donors

● Create and maintain volunteer database

● Works closely with Store Manager to schedule volunteers

● Volunteer recruitment

What we are looking for:

● A kind, outgoing, respectful, honest, and reliable individual with a great attitude and serious work ethic

● Someone who understands technology and will be able to respond to emails, check voicemails, work our food pantry system, and can operate Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Sheets, and Google Docs

● A true team player with a flair for leadership, problem solving, and a self-starter will work well with us.

Desired Skills:

Experience or interest in social media or project management is a plus!

Experience:

Previous experience with food pantries or non-profit agencies a plus, but not required

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

*PLEASE NOTE:

This position is an AmeriCorps member position. The Marshfield Clinic Health System will pay the applicant under the AmeriCorps program with additional requirements and benefits above and beyond a St. Vincent de Paul employee. Some of which include:

● 35-40 hour workweek with 15 days PTO

● Members will be provided a very modest living allowance/salary of $21,500/year

● Living allowance is paid every two weeks during the term of service. Net pay affected by withholdings claimed.

Education award for full-time members is $6,495 paid upon annual completion -- a commitment to 1,700 hours.

● Childcare assistance is available to full-time members only and is based on household income eligibility (information provided on request – in most cases, this covers 80-100% of childcare costs).

● Basic individual health, dental, and vision insurance is available to full-time members only. No family plan. (Premium paid by Marshfield Clinic Health System)

All members are eligible for loan forbearance and interest accrual payments with qualified student loans.

● Mileage, meals, and housing are provided for all required MCHS AmeriCorps training and events.

● The program offers MCHS AmeriCorps service gear.

● Members must be able to pass a criminal, FBI, and DMV background check (Note: having a background does not automatically exclude them from membership).

● A MINIMUM one-year commitment is required; however, two years is ideal.

● Members must accept the position as a full-time priority over other jobs and be able to complete their term of service.

The 2023-24 full-time AmeriCorps service term is Sept. 11, 2023 – Aug. 31, 2024.
