We are an Italian e-commerce company IN THE FOOD BUSINESS, specializing in the EVOO industry.

We are looking for a SEO/UX-oriented COPYWRITER with experience in the food industry.

The work will focus on producing content material for our blog and newsletters. In addition, you will help define our brand voice and ensure that all copy is consistent with our TOV by writing, editing, and proofing materials.

You have:

• An interest (even an obsession) in food

• An unexplainable connection with the Italian culture
• A deep sense of value for communicating verbal concepts to any audience, whether it's your team, a brand's internal writers, or an external audience

• Both a collaborative spirit and the skills to succeed independently

• A command of punctuation, spelling, structure, and organization
• 2+ years experience in writing and editing experience with an agency, brand, publication, or media outlet in the digital food industry

Responsibilities for our Freelance Copywriter:

• Write copy for website collateral and customer-facing communications, including stories for the newsletters, emails, UX copy, social captions, and promotions.

• We are writing short-and long-form copy for the blog and our digital marketing content.

• Nimbly, expertly, and quickly pivot tone of voice depending on the project, whether it's a newsletter POV product launch or a subject line touting a current promotion.

• Work with our social media marketing & creative manager and e-commerce manager to develop and execute narrative direction for editorial features and various marketing initiatives.
• Maintain robust and up-to-date knowledge of the competitive food, distribution & online e-commerce olive oil-related landscape.

• Establish and develop Vignoli Food Anthology brand voice by creating an engaging and accessible copy.

Basic Qualifications

• English native speaker
• 2+ years of experience in a copywriting, editing, and/or content-related role within the online, preferably e-commerce, sphere.

• Proven experience writing concise, quippy, and engaging copy—specialties in promotional and UX copy.

• Proven ability to write copy for a variety of platforms and customer touchpoints.

• A proactive, can-do attitude.

• Proven attention to detail and deadlines.

• Understand how writing and conceptual ideas can be used to tell a story on behalf of a brand and within a promotion/product

• Available digital portfolio or work samples

Preferred qualifications:

• Proficiency in Excel (a plus)

• Work autonomously, with little direction

• Basic knowledge of Italian

• Avid consumer of all types of media

• Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
