Food Service (Food Nutrition Program)
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm (10 Months)
Location: Paterson NJ
JOB SUMMARY:
Food Service staff assist in coordinating all aspects of meal service, preparation and planning for all CFCS Early Learning Programs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for supporting all aspects of Child Care Food kitchen operation in accordance with Food Handler Certification/Paterson Department of Health.
- Assist with meal preparation, portion control, food safety and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
- Adhere to the Paterson Division of Health and State Licensing requirements for proper food safety and sanitation practices.
- Maintain a rating of SATISFACTORY in The Paterson Division of Health FOOD ESTABLISHMENT INSPECTION REPORT.
- Store all food and non-food supplies and maintain pantry to meet sanitary requirements.
- Assist with inventory control and stock room maintenance.
- Sign for all food deliveries and submit invoice to the office as necessary.
- Work in cooperation with the Cook to provide meals on an 11-day menu cycle.
- Maintain and post a current copy of the menu and sanitation report in kitchen and meal service area.
- Work with the Cook to ensure that all USDA nutritional requirements are met during the menu process including meal substitutions based on child allergies.
- Responsible for cleanliness of kitchen, equipment and stock room.
- Responsible for equipment maintenance and equipment check.
- Responsible for offsite food delivery.
- Report any accident or unusual occurrence to the Director or Director’s designee before the end of the scheduled workday.
- Carry out all tasks as requested by the Director or Director’s Designee
- Responsible for other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the effective and efficient operation of Catholic Charities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.) Must obtain or possess Food Handler’s Certification from the Paterson Department of Health.
2.) Must possess current driver’s license in good standing
3.) Must possess good reasoning, time management, and comprehension and communication skills.
4.) Must hold a High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
5.) Basic computer skills a plus.
6.) Bilingual Spanish oral skills a plus.
7.) Ability to follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and cleaning supplies when sanitizing kitchen.
