Position Summary
The Salvation Army Northern Division, St. Cloud Corps Food Shelf Assistant assists with maintaining the food shelf, including processing donations, preparing boxes of food, distributing food to participants, and ensuring cleanliness/compliance standards are met. The Assistant is also responsible for driving and transporting daily donations.
This is a part-time position with a work expectation up to 26 hours a week. Expected pay for this position is $12.30 per hour.
Essential Functions (approximate time spent)
- Process, unload, weigh, store, stock, and rotate food donations and related gift-in-kind. (45%)
- Pack and distribute boxes of food to participants while maintaining a high level of customer service. (35%)
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the pantry; ensuring health department and food bank standards are met or exceeded. (15%)
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate records of incoming and outgoing food and supplies for the pantry. (5%)
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in food pantry or food service.
- Must pass background checks.

- Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence.
Working Conditions
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, turning, stretching, reaching, and lifting.
- Must be able to regularly move/lift 50 pounds.
- Business casual environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
