Job description- Front Desk Agent
SUMMARY:
To provide outstanding service to hotel guests at the Front Desk.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Reservations Agent/Guest Service representative:
Using the hotel’s property management computer system check in arriving guests, check out departing guests. Determine and process method of payment, i.e. Cash, credit cards, billing according to hotel policy. Make, cancel or change reservations. Answer telephones and provide information or direct calls to guests and staff. Run necessary reports and balance shift paperwork and cash deposits. Communicate with other departments regarding guest needs and requests. Maintain a guest service log. Other miscellaneous duties may be assigned at any time.
Shifts are 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm and may include weekends and holidays
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reservations Agents have no supervisory duties/responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Previous customer service experience preferred. Must be service oriented and professional in appearance and demeanor. Computer competency and accuracy are required. Must have ability to accurately handle cash and credit card transactions and use a ten-key calculator. Communication skills and good use of English language. Must work well with a team and be flexible in scheduling.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to stand/walk for up to four hours at a time as nearly all duties are performed standing. Must be able to reach, stoop and bend to reach supplies. Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds to assist with guest luggage or packages. Must have adequate levels of sight, speech and hearing to perform the essential duties.
