Front Desk Receptionist The Front Desk team is a client’s first impression of the

salon. This team represents our salon culture and reputation the moment a client

steps through the door or calls/emails the salon. As a member of the front desk, it is

your responsibility to ensure that the salon and stylists are being supported and that

clients are happy and want to come back. As a member of the front desk, this

means that you are working hand-in-hand with the stylists to achieve client

success. Compliments go a long way.... Make the effort to give each client a

compliment and it’s so easy since they just got their hair done! ☺

Front Desk Team reminders/responsibilities

  • Front Desk is to Check in all clients, confirming name and stylist.

Phone should not ring more than 2-3x

Ask all clients if they would like something to drink. We will be serving water, tea, coffee, wine,

and beer

Robes are available in the bathroom glass cabinet upon request

Text/Call Manager/Age for ANY outstanding issues

  • Dress Code
  • Clients see the front desk team before anyone else in the salon.
  • Wear appropriate clothes. If you have to question your outfit, you probably shouldn’t wear it.

Fashion and hair are a pair, however keep your private areas covered. So, no crop tops,

extreme cleavage, short shorts or skirts, flip flops, etc.

  • Pro-tip: Do not roll out of bed and head to work!
  • Scheduling client appointments
  • Phone calls, emails, instagram, FB Ads, Yelp messages, Google messages or in person
  • Ask a stylist if you are unsure of how long they need for a specific appointment or client
  • Notify a stylist if they receive a new appointment for the day
  • Always ask for CC for new clients or clients switching from one stylist to another with no CC

on file

  • There is a 24 hour cancellation policy, if they cancel in that window they will be charged 50%

of their service

  • Canceling client appointments, Immediately cancel the appointment and notify the stylist.
  • Be respectful of the stylist’s time as they may have a waitlist of clients who could take the

cancelled appointment time.

  • Social media
  • Your personal life and social media should not be a priority while working at the front desk.

Please do not be on any of your personal social media apps, unless you are on a break from

work.

  • Helping out with posting, stories, replying to messages and updates
  • Staying current on social feeds and platforms. Daily movement on socials is very important,

there are a few of us that manage it, participation while working is key.

  • Front Desk Daily Tasks
  • Opening, Turn on lights, fans, A.C and essential oil candle diffuser
  • Sweep front if necessary
  • Restock masks, if needed
  • Check voicemails, emails and all message platforms
  • Position trays and chairs to look presentable
  • Set up hot towels, coffee and mugs
  • Daily cash count
  • Check/empty back bar bin and robe bin in bathroom
  • Fold towels and start new cycles
  • Check that bathroom is restocked and cleaned
  • Refill/clean backbar (wiping down the bottles)
  • Organize any eye-sores/messes
  • Midday -End of Day
  • Towels—wash, dry, fold and store away
  • Sweep salon (this includes sitting area, desk area, by washbowls, etc)
  • Dust displays weekly/biweekly thoroughly
  • Organize and dust product shelves
  • Organize and THOROUGHLY wipe down back bar and towel cabinets
  • Refill backbar weekly/biweekly
  • Wipe down front desk
  • Hair dryer area needs to be swept and wiped down for color/ bleach/hair
  • Wipe down trash-lids if you see color/lightener on them, to avoid stains on clothing
  • Check/empty towel/robe bin throughout the day
  • Check on bathroom—refill soap, mints, toilet paper towels, toilet paper, tampons, etc. making

sure to wipe down mirror and sink

  • Bathroom and back room sweeping when necessary
  • Tidy up cape/apron bins in back room when necessary
  • Any free time—water plants or organize (its always appreciated!)
  • Trash must be taken out every night
  • End of shift cash count, anything over $150 should do a Pay Out into the IRS fund noted and

your name

  • Booth Rent and Special Reminders
  • Back bar cleanliness includes whipping down every bottle and its nozzle, cleaning cabinet

doors with windex, removing all bottles to wipe down back bar shelf, cleaning wash bowls,

removing hair from drain (NOTE it is technically every stylists responsibility to clean up after

themselves and remove hair from drains due to State Board fees, if this becomes an issue,

please speak to Age/Management)

  • Towels will be the biggest job during busy days, they must be checked on hourly always

remembering to remove hair from them as it is a State Board violation to have towels stored

away with hair

  • The dishes and tables in the back room are NOT your responsibility, but as the day ends if you

notice a mess, please pick up what you can. If this becomes a problem, please speak to Age/

Management

  • Client dishes (cups and glassware) are to be cleaned by front receptionist
  • Booth rent must take care of their own bookings, cancellations, sweeping, station cleaning,

disinfectant refill etc. Feel free to lend a hand when they're in a bind if you are able to.

  • Commission must confirm any schedule changes/time off with Age/Management
  • Booth rent must confirm with Age/Management when adding days to their schedule
  • When we received new inventory, inventory must be updated on Mangomint before going on

shelves, double checking order slip to assure we received all products

  • Inventory must be checked and updated weekly, if anything is majorly off please contact Age/

Management

  • Back stock for retail is on the right side shelving in mini backroom
  • Only Age/Management are allowed access to Gusto/Homebase, any clock-in errors must be

filled out on Time Adjustment Sheet located at the front desk

  • Color Corrections contracts can be printed out per stylist request
  • Stylist backbar products should be recorded and paid for
  • Any particular front desk tasks will be posted on the white board up front

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $16.75 per hour
