POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the successful operation of the Hotel Front Desk shift and assuring that guest have a favorable hotel and gaming experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verify incoming reservations and room blocks. Assure all rooms are properly coded. Verify transaction of desk clerks to assure accuracy and correct and errors.

  • Review staffing levels to maintain budgeted levels of employment. Delegate authority and assign responsibilities.

  • Interviews candidates for hotel openings. Development of staff by training, providing feedback, and evaluating.

  • Manages department’s financial data by maintaining all master accounts.

  • Review front desk shift activities with Hotel management.

  • Adhere to all applicable Innkeepers Laws, Gaming promotions, and regulations.

  • Responsible for planning, controlling, communicating and implementing procedures and processes for the overall efficient operations of the department.

  • Ensure staff is trained and prepared to deliver the highest level of customer service to the guests in order that they might have a positive gaming and entertainment experience.

  • Ensure the safety and security of employees and customers. Manages programs and processes to control and reduce loss time injuries.

  • Answers patrons complaints and resolves problems.

  • Assists and advises other departments and personnel as necessary to ensure the successful performance of the Hotel and the Company overall.

  • Meet with directors and managers as necessary.

  • Monitors FTEs, actual head count, and overtime.

  • Achieve departmental and individual performance goals and duties in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrate ability to understand, communicate and comply with Company Policies, Processes, and Procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The position is responsible to the Director of Hotel for the successful performance of assigned duties and is responsible for the supervision and performance of the Hotel hourly staff.

Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Switchboard with multi-lines

  • Computer/printer

  • Copy/fax machine

  • Phone

  • 10-key calculator

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical demands associated with the position including, but not limited to, extensive standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Office environment and Casino environment exposed to various temperatures, smoke, dust and fumes, bright lights, and excessive noise levels. May include boat and/or floating barge. High rise hotel and atrium. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Broad variety of tasks and deadlines requires an irregular work schedule in an interruptive environment.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and casino policies

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

Two to five years’ experience as a front desk clerk or reservationist with a four year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

Must have or be able to obtain an Alcohol Beverage Control Card and Responsible Vendor card. The ability to obtain and maintain any licenses, permits, insurance, or indemnifications necessary for the completion of duties and responsibilities associated with this position or for the protection of the Company’s assets, employee or patrons.
