FRCC Facility Maintenance & Groundskeeper

Responsible to Feliciana Retreat & Conference Center Executive Director

Purpose: To perform maintenance work

Qualifications:

1. Must be mature, honest, and reliable

2. Must be at least 21 years of age

3. Must be able to perform lawn care and repair work (such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.)

4. Must be able to lift boxes and equipment over 40 pounds and move beds and furniture

5. Must be able to work on weekends and evenings, as needed

6. Must be able to follow directions

Expectations:

1. Follow the policies and procedures of the Feliciana Retreat and Conference Center

2. Work under the direction of the Executive Director

3. Interact positively with guests and staff

4. Work independently on tasks

5. Work cooperatively with other staff

Duties:

• Must have at least three years’ work experience in some of the following areas; HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, dry wall, pool maintenance, and carpentry
• Mowing and other grounds upkeep
• Group facilities set up and take down
• Inspection of facilities before and after groups
• Maintenance/monitoring of fuel and propane tanks and levels
• Maintaining equipment including truck, mowers, and tractors (i.e., cleaning vehicles, changing oil, sharpening blades, replacing air filters, etc.)
• Grading roads and maintaining trails
• Check buildings for problems regularly (water heaters, roof leaks, broken windowpanes, air conditioners left on, etc.)
• Keep shop organized, clean, and safe
• Pest control
• Serve with the Executive Director as the Feliciana staff representatives to the Maintenance Committee
• Carry out other assignments given by Director

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Norwood, LA 70761: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Maintenance: 2 years (Preferred)

Language:

• English (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
