Town Hall Burger and Beer (THBB) in Raleigh in the Wakefield neighborhood is actively interviewing candidates for General Manager (GM).

The GM is the most senior staff and is responsible for the success of all goals and activities and for achieving maximum guest satisfaction.

The GM must have a firm understanding of Profit and Loss statements, experience in Human Resources, and experience setting and achieving short- and long-term goals. GM's must be experienced and qualified individuals who have a passion for the hospitality industry, excellent communications skills and must be able to enhance the company culture each day. Experience and a skill level in both FOH and BOH operations are essential to succeed in this position. The GM will work closely with the owner to achieve business goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists owners in developing short- and long-term objectives, policies, and rules.
  • Maintains an ongoing review process for policies and procedures.
  • Maintains employee rules and regulations, work schedules and internal controls, and a performance appraisal system.
  • Maintains and keeps organized official documents.
  • Sets the proper tone for employee-guest relations, and for the restaurant in general.
  • Establishes quality and cost standards.
  • Responsible for the care and upkeep of furnishings, equipment and facilities.
  • Ensures proper staffing by assembling an effective team and adjusting to business levels.
  • Coordinates the work of staff.
  • Assures flow of information among staff through proper channels.
  • Recommends and/or sets all salaries.
  • Ensures proper execution and monitoring of all contracts.
  • Oversees the development of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Monitors adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees risk management programs to ensure that adequate safety measures are in effect to protect guests and employees.
  • Maintains disaster and emergency plans and systems. Ensures that all personnel are trained and rehearsed in correct disaster and emergency procedures.
  • Keeps the owner informed on important operating matters and problems.
  • Maintains an ongoing staff training of company policies, procedures and culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example. Create the culture from top down.
  • Lead and motivate their team to consistently deliver objectives and delight guests to deliver best-in-class standards.
  • Create a safe employment environment, free of harassment and discrimination.
  • Identify, train and develop employees.
  • Focus sales growth through guest satisfaction and delivery of THBB procedures.
  • Manage all restaurant costs to deliver positive cash flow, eliminating unnecessary costs.
  • Maintain strict compliance with food, health, safety, and security standards & procedures.
  • Maintain strict adherence to cash handling and banking policies and procedures.
  • Validate effective completion of shift tools and administrative duties.
  • Ensure accurate adherence to all state and federal laws on assigned shifts.
  • Recommend associates for hiring and promotion.

Requirements:

  • ServSafe Certified in all service and production stations.
  • Cicerone certification.
  • Understanding of procedures, state laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation procedures.
  • Positive, motivating communication skills, strong organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Able to work in excess of 50 hours per week while standing, walking and stretching.
  • Able to lift, carry, push and pull 30 pounds.
  • Able to listen, understand, and respond professionally to guests/employees inquiries and concerns.
