We offer families an e-cargo and e-bike subscription at an affordable price that includes unlimited maintenance and service, and we’re the first group in the US to partner with Tern - one of the best e-cargo bike companies in the world.

We’re launching our first location in Los Angeles because we believe it can be the most bike-friendly city in the US. Job Summary:

As the Founding General Manager for Wombi in LA, you will have the unique opportunity to launch and scale the Wombi business in Los Angeles, our first US market. We're confident that Wombi has the potential to revolutionize transportation in Los Angeles, and we're excited for you to lead the charge towards a more sustainable and enjoyable way of living in the city. The General Manager will manage the P&L and oversee the LA team, including marketing, sales, operations, and customer service. This role has the potential to grow into a Market or Country
Lead position as Wombi scales into other markets. Additionally, Wombi is offering equity as part of the compensation package for this position.

This role is ideal for someone who has experience building a business, and is excited about not only the big picture but also about improving and iterating on tactics to grow our customer base. We’re also looking for someone who is passionate about e-bikes and urban mobility, and excited about changing the fabric of urban transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement a strategic plan for the business that aligns with the company's goals and objectives
  • Build, develop, and lead a team of smart and passionate staff to ensure high-quality service and performance.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the business including fleet management, customer service, and billing
  • Own the P&L - drive revenue, manage costs, and work with the senior team to build a financially strong business
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to ensure profitability and growth of the business
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure the business remains competitive
  • Manage creative cross-channel (events, digital, partnerships) marketing strategies and customer growth campaigns to attract and retain clients
  • Spearhead partnerships with local institutions (schools, community groups) to drive community engagement and customer growth
  • Instigate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners
  • Grow the business and brand from ground up: be onsite at the retail location, at local events, and at partnerships meetings
  • Establish systems and processes to scale your best practices, ideally working later on growing your systems to other Wombi locations
  • Engage with local leaders to find opportunities to serve the community and continue serving more customers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • 5+ years in a business management experience in operations, strategy, technology, business development or a similar area (start-up experience and/or P&L ownership are a plus)
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to make smart partnerships happen, from negotiation to execution
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making using Excel and SQL
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful business strategies while navigating within ambiguous environments
  • Passionate about mobility, biking, sustainability, and better cities is a plus
  • Knowledge of the e-bike industry and trends
  • Experience managing and leading a team, with willingness to invest in the coaching and development of your team members
