Responsibilities:
As a full time clinician, provides genetic counseling, supportive and follow-up services to patients and family members at high risk for genetic and/or exposure related conditions with oversight by the MD Clinical Geneticist in the Genetic Center. Mentors new genetic counselors, genetic counseling students, and other clinical staff. Collaborates with outside agencies and physicians to ensure operational effectiveness, market development and high-quality patient interactions. Collaborates and assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, practices and systems to support and enhance the quality of services provided.

Qualifications:
Education

• Master's Degree in Genetics Counseling required
• Credentialed by the CMC Medical Staff Office as an Allied Health Professional and privileged to perform genetic counseling services required
• Graduate of an accredited Genetic Counseling program approved by the American Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC) required

Experience

• 3 years of experience in Medical Genetics setting preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• LGC - California Licensed Genetic Counselor required
• ABGC - American Board Genetic Counseling Certification required
