Position Summary

Hydromax USA is looking for a GIS Analyst to join an established team providing internal and external GIS and mapping services to our customers and internal analysts and field ops teams. We collect volumes of field data augmented by high accuracy GPS. We use the ESRI platform to provide industry leading analytics and data delivery. The ideal candidate will be comfortable visualizing data in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro, as well as performing analysis and geoprocessing operations against that data. We’ll teach you the processes and workflows that you need to know to support on the end-user side and we’ll guide you to where the data lives. You will be able to run with it. The ideal candidate will be comfortable implementing python based scripted workflow solutions. You wouldn’t be expected to know every toolkit and library, but you would be comfortable searching Stack Exchange and implementing solutions. The best candidate will be excited to work with a fantastic team of GIS Analysts and developers across a range of HUSA technologies and across a range of skill and experience levels. That candidate will be expected to lean on other members of the department for support and guidance in meeting the expectations placed on him or her, as well as continually offering his or her support to meet the team goal.

Primary Responsibilities

• Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to troubleshoot and resolve problems with specialized GIS systems
• Assist in developing mapping products for clients and users in collaboration with other team members
• Work with other analysts and developers to resolve complicated problems and issues with mobile mapping software and data collection hardware
• Support data production teams by offering GIS based analytics and workflows to non-GIS data analysts
• Using scripting and process automation tools to efficiently deploy tools to multiple projects, perform system maintenance, and report on the HUSA GIS
• Provide users with assistance solving spatial problems
• Work independently as well as part of a team to ensure deadlines are met
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS or a geoscience field or equivalent experience
• Experience working with SQL and general database design principles required
• Experience working in a position that practices GIS analysis techniques and skills preferred
• Experience with scripting languages and tools such as: SQL, Python, JavaScript, ArcGIS Model Builder, and other spatial data processing skills
• FME experience is preferred but not required
• Broad understanding of the ESRI ecosystem
• Proficiency with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or similar desktop GIS software
• Ability to use python, FME Workbench, and other platform tools to complete duties of the position
• Great attitude and willingness to learn and be guided, as well as a desire to learn and explore on your own
• Receptive to a goal-oriented approach to work assignment, and ability to manage your time to meet those goals
• Attention to detail; strong organizational and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills, including good team communication as well as a professional manner with internal and external customers
• Thorough knowledge of computers and the Windows operating system
• Understanding of basic principles of mapping
