Position Summary:
This is a Receptionist position with responsibility for greeting customers, providing information, communicating with departments, and performing a variety of secretarial duties. ENTAA Care a practice pod of Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians LLC.
- Follows current protocol in place for opening and closing an office.
- Greets customers in polite, prompt and helpful manner.
- Provides necessary instructions/directions as needed to patients.
- Informs appropriate department of patient’s arrival.
- Completes necessary paperwork such as encounter forms, referrals and receipt information accurately and timely.
- Accurately uses the computer system to generate information necessary for billing.
- Updates patient information, collects co-pays, provides necessary forms needed for completion and obtains signatures as needed in a timely manner.
- Scans necessary documents into patient’s charts following the current protocol.
- Maintains a clean and current waiting area including all reading materials.
- Answers telephone according to current protocol; including questions regarding appointments such as testing, etc.
- Books, coordinates and reschedules patient’s appointments accurately and timely according to current protocol.
- Arranges loose work/scanned materials in date order and maintains items in proper order following current protocol.
- Collects accurate patient balances as instructed by the billing department.
- Balances daily accounts accurately and timely.
- Completes daily chart prep accurately and timely.
- Completes daily referral calls timely.
- Completes daily new patient allergy confirmation calls timely.
- Stays within allowed monthly error rate for demographic and scheduling entries.
- Completes all daily assigned tasks by the end of the working day.

High School Diploma/GED required
Licensure/Certification:

Required Work Experience:
Minimum of one year’s experience in a medical health setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Applicant must be highly motivated and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced office with strong interpersonal skills and with a friendly and empathic manner.
- Experience with computerized EMR (electronic medical records) systems highly desirable: familiarity with use of computers is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with staff, physicians, Howard County General Hospital departments, patients, families and outside agencies in such a manner as to gain their confidence and secure their cooperation and respect.
- High level of patience, tolerance, and tact in order to deal effectively with people and time pressures.
- Professional demeanor, attitude and appearance.
- Initiative and assertiveness in dealing with problems.
- Knowledge of operator tasks, clinic policies/procedures and paperwork.
- Knowledge of use of office equipment including phone, computer, and scanner.
- Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques.
- Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement (insurance) policies.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling punctuation and sentence structure to answer correspondence and prepare reports.
- Full knowledge of medical record, reception, allergy and call center functions, procedures and

- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy sufficient to review and develop procedures used in
