Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking an entry level Manufacturing Support Team Member for a position in Troy, AL to support production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment. This position will serve as the Point Of Contact for all activities related to Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) within the production building. The incumbent may facilitate self-directed work teams, provide training in core skill areas to teams and peers, and interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. Incumbents are generally experienced in one or more areas of manufacturing operations.

Job duties assigned to the GFE Support Team Member, including, but not limited to:

Planning and coordinating equipment maintenance and/or repair activities with a cross-functional team, including members from Operations, Property Management, Facilities, Finance, Contracts, Quality, Calibration, Transportation, and Production, Planning, and Control (PP&C)

Accurately tracking and documenting GFE inventory and ensuring adherence to FAR guidelines for proper care and handling of GFE throughout all periods of equipment lifecycle, including receiving, maintaining, repairs, and dispositioning

Building effective relationships with Lockheed Martin personnel across different functions and business areas as well as with Government and contractor employees

Preparing for and conducting Government audits of GFE with custodians and the customer to ensure accountability of government property

Working closely and cooperatively with ESH to ensure that safety and environmental policies and procedures are followed

Responsible to the Program Manager for day-to-day operations of a work group/team as it relates to activities involving GFE, including status on quality, performance, and schedule. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that goals are accomplished, amended, and set according to Program requirements.

The Locale:
Troy, Alabama is located in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico in that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters.

Troy is a great place to live offering lots of things to do and has a small-town charm. Troy is also a college town and is home to Troy University.

Where can you get to from Troy? Our facility in Troy is just under an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama. Troy is about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach and Florida's Pan Handle. Troy is about three hours from Atlanta, GA.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, OR equivalent experience/combined education.

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.

Ability to establish and maintain strong effective relationships with both Lockheed Martin and Government employees.

Ability to speak publicly to groups of various sizes in both formal and informal settings.

Excellent oral, active listening, and written communication skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and Systems, specifically Word and Excel.

Ability to accurately track and monitor all aspects of a large inventory of equipment in various stages of operation.

Strong organizational skills.

**Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Desired Skills:
Knowledge of DOD / FAR guidelines pertaining to Government Funded Equipment (FAR 52.245-1 Government Property)

Ability to provide leadership and obtain Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt certification

Working knowledge of Lockheed Martin Missile & File Control’s Pike County Operations operational procedures

Working knowledge of and exposure to managing cost, quality, and schedule metrics.

Exposure to supervisory duties, ability to maintain good employee relations within a team
