As a Grievance Coordinator, you will be responsible for promoting fairness, accountability, and integrity within correctional facilities by serving as a neutral party in investigating inmate grievances, complaints, inquiries, and appeals related to medical care. Your role will involve working closely with inmates/residents, correctional staff, and management to ensure that all concerns are addressed and resolved appropriately. You will play a critical role in promoting positive relationships and maintaining a safe and secure environment for all parties involved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting inmates/residents with medical grievance and appeal procedures.
- Investigating formal grievances and appeals, reviewing informal resolutions and participating in the inmate grievance procedure.
- Working with other coordinators to establish facts surrounding medical grievances while maintaining neutrality throughout the process.
- Maintaining files on all inmate grievances and preparing reports with statistical data on grievances and resolutions.
- Providing grievance process training to the Regional Management team, Health Services Administrators (HSA), Directors of Nursing (DONs) and other company employees.
Education
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
Experience
- Previous experience working with utilization management; Computer data entry experience.
Licenses/Certifications
- Current licensure as Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
