GSOC Specialist

Job Description, Qualifications and Experience

Summary

The ideal candidate will have an interest in building a career in security or threat intelligence, while working with a team of seasoned military and law enforcement professionals. The GSOC Specialist must be detail oriented, an effective and efficient communicator, and have the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.

Daily responsibilities include the monitoring of and reporting on global and local events, monitor camera and access control systems, and respond to requests for information to support and inform security operations teams.

Essential Functions:
  • Confidently maneuver through various computer-based monitoring platforms including camera systems, access control systems, and alarm processing systems.
  • Effectively monitor for threats or potential obstacles for our security teams by using threat detection intelligence tools and open source research.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and concisely through various channels including, but not limited to Push-to-Talk (PTT) Radio, satellite phones, text messaging applications, telephone, and email.
  • Input and maintain accurate and detailed records of security operations data within a centralized Intelligence and Data Management Platform.
  • Provide emergency and non-emergency security system monitoring, event dispatch, and emergency notification services.
  • Collect, process and analyze information from various sources to provide succinct assessments to various security operations teams.

  • Must have an interest in or experience in one or more of the following: Security, Executive Protection, Intelligence, Operations, Critical Incident Management, Corporate Security, Analytics, OSINT, or Research.
  • Must be inquisitive, curious, and have an affinity for searching for information in open sources.
  • Competence with Google Suite, MS Office Suite and other database systems.
  • Must be competent and comfortable working with email, document creation, spreadsheet data entry,
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to write complete, succinct, and professional correspondence with no grammatical or spelling errors.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and strong customer service outlook during stressful situations.
  • Must be able to quickly adapt and excel in dynamic situations.
  • Must be willing to sign an NDA and maintain strict confidentiality. Competencies and KASO (knowledge, aptitude, skills and other)
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend and retain information effectively.
  • Ability to make decisions confidently with general guidance and information gained from operational job knowledge, with minimal incident-specific direction for every individual task.
  • Ability to attend training events that fall outside normal work hours
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts both days and nights
Work Environment & Physical/Mental Demands

  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background, reference checks, and drug tests.

  • Exposure to sensitive and confidential information
  • Regular computer usage
  • 12-hour shift with little to no onsite supervision.
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects and operating office equipment
  • Close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus
  • Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling
  • Must be flexible with the ability to work nights, odd hours, holidays and weekends
  • Frequent sitting and/or standing
