Job Description
The Head of Global Technology FP&A is a senior strategic business partner to the following $4B+ global functions: CTO, CMSO, CQO, CFO, Division Finance, Corporate FP&A and Admin Finance. This position develops, aligns, and streamlines the function strategic planning, multi-year planning and the budgeting/ forecasting processes for consolidating global product development, manufacturing, procurement, repair, supply chain, quality and regulatory.
This person is responsible for overseeing the development of global financial policies, procedures, and analytics infrastructure to drive transparency and improvements that support division fiscal management and smart investments. The role partners with
Business Unit and Functional leaders, creating value and unlocking incremental business potential by providing business decision support, transactions analysis, valuations, opportunities based on data-driven business models and solutions, in addition to cost management guidance.
This individual is a key member of the global finance leadership team, reporting to the Global Head of Function Strategy & Portfolio Management.
This role is grounded on proximity, business and finance expertise, advance analytics, interpersonal maturity, and organizational savvy to deliver customer value and to drive for results.
This position requires a forward-thinking, innovative, and strategic leader with a sense of urgency to contribute to the development and execution of the global Technology strategies. They will be responsible for developing meaningful financial and operational metrics that will help drive company decision-making. This individual will be responsible for implementing best-in-class financial processes and systems to support continued growth and expansion as well as for the professional growth and development of individual FP&A team members. The Head of Global Technology FP&A must have a hands-on approach in all aspects of the job and demonstrate the highest caliber of professional and personal integrity and ethical decision-making.
Job Duties
- Work with CTO executive leadership to identify business opportunities, mitigate risks, measure, and monitor business impact, and maximize ROI of existing initiatives and strategic investments.
Facilitate, consolidate, and analyze multi-year plan global functions technology plan, collaborating closely with business units, division functions, Division Finance, and regional leaders. Partner closely with Technology Finance leadership groups to ensure alignment with strategic business planning decisions and funding.
Leads analysts in evaluating organic and inorganic investment opportunities. Oversees financial analyst training to ensure alignment with global PMO process and consistent application of financial models, analytics, and reporting.
Oversees and expands robust, efficient, and effective budgeting and forecasting processes that reflect the highly matrixed and complex multinational structures of Olympus.
Develops processes that enhance senior management’s financial stewardship in support of achieving business and financial objectives.
Ensures an effective infrastructure exists for diagnosing issues and managing progress against objectives. Provides concise feedback to all levels of management regarding performance on initiatives. Participates cross functionally to develop solutions for issues.
Directs the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes and ensure robust consolidated financial analysis for global technology functions. Provides stakeholder analysis and reports at the global, group, division, and business unit levels. Challenges reasonableness of key assumptions.
Directs and leads subordinate managers in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Responsible for hiring and retaining a diverse, highly qualified staff and for providing career coaching, growth, and personal development for direct/indirect report employees. Responsible for the development of staff: Analyses, instructs, mentors, evaluates and coaches. Develops direct reports to assume greater responsibilities within the organization and empowers them to act in the best interest of the organization.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in finance or Accounting required, MBA desirable.
Minimum of 10 - 15 years strategy, portfolio planning and/or financial planning experience, with a demonstrated supervisory progression.
Strong preference given to a candidate with multi-function experience.
Ability to conduct job responsibilities in English.
Must be able to travel up to 20% of time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical device industry experience preferred.
Hands on experience developing, reviewing, and negotiating business agreements.
Must possess sound financial competence and business acumen.
Demonstrated competencies in building and running complex financial models including valuation tools. Adept at calculating NPV, ROI and payback.
Highly developed knowledge of program management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
Experience with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word MS project
Strong technical aptitude; comfortable in working with engineers.
