Model Risk Governance and Review (MRGR) is a global team of modeling experts within the firm's Risk Management and Compliance organization. The team is responsible for conducting independent model validation and model governance activities to help identify, measure, and mitigate Model Risk in the firm. The objective is to ensure that models are fit for purpose, used appropriately within the business context for which have been approved, and that model users are aware of the model limitations and how they could impact business decisions.
The critical role of managing model risk depends on a solid infrastructure and a project management and control mindset. As a member of the Chief Operating Office, you will join a dynamic team that performs the critical task of maintaining the model risk governance infrastructure for the firm. The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for: (i) developing tools and dashboards, (ii) building analytics for monitoring the performance of models used across the firm, and (iii) metrics reporting, process improvement, and executing strategic projects.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
- Oversight and coordination of the work done by Technology to support MRGR's core system MRGR Hub
- Development of MRGR owned technology solutions including ongoing automation work
- Development of dashboard reports across the model lifecycle
- Development and maintenance of processes that facilitate model governance and review activities
- Project management for initiatives that coordinate process efficiencies or that are regulatory focused
- Implementing innovation in model governance tools, systems, and practices to unlock efficiencies
- Business management support for the team
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
We are looking for someone excited to join our organization with the following qualifications and capabilities:
- An experienced leader at the senior Executive Director or Managing Director level
- Experience in running operational processes
- Ability to juggle multiple initiatives
- An experienced manager with experience of managing large teams
- Ability to work across teams both within MRGR and with the user and developer communities
- An understanding of modeling and/or model risk management is a plus
