Position Summary

We are looking for energetic, attentive captains who are committed to providing high-quality experiences to our guests. The captain’s responsibilities include speaking with guests, taking drink and food orders, making recommendations, processing payments, and ensuring that the customer’s needs are met, that they feel welcomed and have an excellent time. You should be a skilled multi-tasker with a passion for guest satisfaction and knowledge of wines, beer, and cocktails. To succeed as a server, you should be friendly, proactive, and efficient. Captains should also be passionate about the food and drinks they serve and creating a fun, enjoyable experience for every guest. Our serving staff will work in teams of 2 in order to effectively anticipate and attend to each guests needs. Comfortability with tableside preparations will be a must. This position will be paid $15 hourly + tips so we do require strong food & beverage backgrounds in upscale dining and strong organizational skills.

We are looking to add 3 Captains to our team.

Preferred Candidate:

  • Prior Experience of 5 years in Upscale/Fine Dining
  • Introductory Sommelier Certification Preferred
  • Extensive Spirit/Cocktail Knowledge
  • Motivated to build/maintain/network with recurring clientele.
  • Willing to develop an intermediate level of understanding of culinary concepts.
  • Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Debonaire Handbook.
  • Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests while providing professional and exceptional service to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Greet and welcome guests by offering a drink menu and providing information on any beverage specialties.
  • Maintain general cleanliness of assigned stations and the entire venue.
  • Accurately enter all orders into the POS system and follows proper cash/payment card procedures.
  • Ensures the timely delivery of all beverages to the guests.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the company.
  • Serves all alcoholic beverages in accordance with all Florida regulations and alcohol awareness training standards.
  • Protects establishment, guests and employees by adhering to Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
  • Properly sets-up floor and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management.
  • Performs opening, closing and side-work.
  • Reports all breakage or damage of equipment.
  • Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings.
  • Updates knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.
  • Portrays a positive and professional attitude.
  • Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all employees.
  • Cleaning and clearing tables.
  • Learning about food and beverages, such as wine, beer, and cocktails.

  • Must be able to bend and lift to 50 lbs.
  • Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.
  • Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
  • Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • A friendly, attentive attitude.
  • Knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine.
  • Must be the 18 years of age to serve alcohol.
  • Compliance with all local, state, and federal liquor laws.
  • Willingness to work at peak hours, which may include evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • A warm personality and positive attitude
  • A sincere motivation to provide hospitality to our guests and peers
  • Ability to suggestively upsell appropriate spirits, wine and beer.
  • Ability to empathize with guests and anticipate their needs for food, drinks and service.
  • Ability to adapt and maintain composure in high pressure situations

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
