Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent competitive serviceas a Hospital Nursing Services Consultant, G22, or CommunityNursing Services Consultant Home Health Services, G22 andeligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent permanent competitive service in a title G20 or higher and meeting the open competitve minimum qualifications listed below.
Non-Competitive Minimum Qualifications: Currently licensed and registered as a professional nurse in NYS; AND a minimum of Three years of post-licensure health care, public health, community health, or other nursing experience in an appropriate facility setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience as an RN in an acute care setting and familiar with the hospital surveillance process and State and Federal Laws and Regulations. The candidate must be highly motivated, possess excellent written, communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to function independently and work as a member of a team, prioritize and address multiple tasks and responsibilities; scheduling expertise. Must have a strong knowledge of databases and be computer literate.
- Participate the survey process from scheduling to closure.
- Review and issue of survey related results and correspondence.
- Assist in the development of Policy and Procedures, surveillance methodology, tools and protocol.
- Assist in interpreting and clarifying policy guidelines.
- Communicate with Managed Care Organization staff and management regarding DOH policy changes, guidance, or other applicable correspondence.
- Special Projects and other related duties as assigned.
- Travel throughout New York State is required.
- Maintaining licensure and registration is a condition of continued employment.
- Posted salary range includes the statutory hiring rate at Step 4 and job rate for PS&T Grade 22 ($85,272 - $95,392) and an additional Geographic Pay Differential of $20,000.
