HealthFront Emergency Room Associate - Evenings - Venice Job at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System
Job Summary:
The HealthFront Emergency Room (ER) Associate is responsible for welcoming and assisting visitors and patients to the Sarasota Memorial Hospital ER. The associate will perform rounds throughout the ER areas, and provides communication to patients and visitors, as appropriate, and assists with products or recommending services to make the stay/wait more comfortable and as seamless as possible. The associate serves as a brand advocate for the organization, and requires constant approachability with the ability for persons who need assistance, see the associate’s smile, read lips, and hear voice clearly to ensure consistent and distinct communication, as well as, maintaining a calm and courteous manner in difficult and sensitive situations while utilizing critical thinking skills to solve unusual challenges.
Required Qualifications:
- Require an Associate degree or High School diploma/GED Equivalent and two (2) years of directly related work experience may substitute for required degree.
- Require a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a customer service setting; preferably in a healthcare or retail environment.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to work autonomously; ability to work and make decisions independently.
- Prefer the ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, demonstrate initiative and maintain self-direction.
- Prefer demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Prefer demonstrated interpersonal relations and customer service skills that reflect the standards of SMHCS.
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of the healthcare industry.
- Prefer demonstrated computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and social media.
- Prefer demonstrated organizational skills.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse public.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multiple departments in order to appropriately direct patients and visitors.
