Job Description

The Blue Mountain Union School in Wells River Vermont is seeking a high school Special Education teacher starting with the 2023-2024 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting special education students in a variety of content areas at the high school level. The high school Special Education teacher at Blue Mountain will provide both in classroom academic support, pullout academic support and may have co-teaching responsibilities. Interested candidates need to complete the school spring application and include: a cover letter, resume, three current letters of recommendation, transcripts (undergraduate and graduate), proof of Vermont licensure as a Special Education/Consulting Teacher (or the ability to become licensed) and Praxis (or the equivalent) test scores.

Job Requirements

• Vermont licensure (or the ability to become licensed in Vermont) as a Special Education/Consulting Teacher.
  Responsibilities include: direct instruction, support with differentiating curriculum, using technology for communication and learning, guiding/collaborating with support staff and implementing behavior intervention plans. Applicants must be proficient in data-based academic instruction, positive behavior support/interventions, proficiency-based learning and the Google platform. Experience with trauma-informed practices is desired.
