Silver Lake Hospital of Newark, NJ is seeking to hire experienced Hospital Attendants to monitor patients to ensure their safety for our long-term acute care patients.
ABOUT SILVER LAKE HOSPITAL
Silver Lake Hospital is a long-term acute care hospital with a reputation of providing patients with a place to heal before heading home. A long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) is an acute care specialty hospital that provides highly advanced and focused care for higher acuity patients who have not responded to short-term treatment in traditional general hospitals. The average length of stay in an LTACH is 25 days as compared to a 3-5 day average stay in a general hospital. Our safe and state of the art hospital is designed to admit and care for the most critically ill patients.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Hospital Attendant performs routine tasks in patient care such as helping patients eat, sitting for line of sight, answering call bells, and informing clinical staff of the patient's needs. The position involves direct patient care for a population of patients between the ages of 18 and older. Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required to serve this population.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one (1) year of experience preferred.
- Prior work experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and observation skills.
- Must possess emotional maturity, honesty, reliability, as well as an ability to understand and follow instructions.
