The Durham Salt Cave’s team consists of practitioners from the Living Arts Collective whose work weaves in beautifully with the experience of our urban retreat. Host Role Description:

As the Durham Salt Cave Host, you are the first person customers come in contact with at our wellness center and are responsible for guiding their relaxing experience. You manage customers’ experiences from the moment they make a reservation to when they leave the space. This role is responsible for helping to orient customers to the space, through their experience, and support them in their transition back into the world outside of this retreat environment. In addition, you will answer phone calls, assist in scheduling, and be responsible for keeping the reception area and service rooms welcoming and presentable. You may also offer recommended services and sell retail products (i.e. bath salts and herbal teas). This position also receives tips in addition to the hourly pay.

Job Responsibilities:

• Welcoming and orienting people to the space
• Properly preparing customers for their appointments prior to arrival and walking them through the experience
• Scheduling customer appointments and managing customer records
• Handling payments
• Explaining services and offerings to customers
• Keeping other employees informed of customers' needs
• Maintaining a welcoming environment
• Managing customer service inquiries
• Clean all treatment areas (includes sweeping, dusting surfaces, cleaning windows, and taking out trash)

Qualifications:

• Ability to work 20+ hours per week
• Must have reliable transportation
• Mature and dependable with experience in customer service roles
• Experience with scheduling tools
• Receptionist knowledge
• Ability to support a relaxing environment while tending to a wide range of customers and needs
• Ability to work consistent weekends with some weekdays as needed
• Physical ability to assist clients in and out of treatment spaces
• Experience in guiding meditations or facilitating groups is highly encouraged
• Being proactive in your work and also experience in working with a team
