Job description:

Under the guidance of the Executive and Assistant Executive Housekeeper, housekeepers are responsible for ensuring guest rooms are cleaned to the highest standing, in accordance with company procedures. A close working relationship is required with team members and supervisors, often in the same room or close proximity.

Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

Maintain inventory of supplies and cleanliness of housekeeping carts

Perform all housekeeping duties as needed in a timely manner, including:

• distributing laundered articles and linens
• changing beds
• cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies as needed
• sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping floors; cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
• dusting furniture and equipment
• polishing metalwork
• washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills

Ensure efficient and timely communication with all other departments.

Report potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance related issues promptly to supervisor.

Adhere to company standards and maintains compliance with policies and procedures.

Experience:

Some High School education preferred

A minimum of 6 months’ experience in housekeeping preferred

Qualifications:

This position requires the ability to understand and follow both oral and written directions, as well as knowledge of English language. Effective communication skills, ability to maintain effective relationships, and successful interactions with guests and team members are a must.

Additional Skills and Abilities include:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to change.
• Able to use sound judgments, and work independently, with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, weekends and holidays.
