The HRIS Specialist will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day activities to support the administration of the employee benefits program; to include, but not limited to, managing benefits enrollment, communicating changes in benefit programs, and ensuring compliance of benefit programs. The HRIS Specialist will manage the HRIS duties of the organization and lead process improvements within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) that support HR functions across the department.

This position can be remote depending on location. You will be required to travel to Lake Zurich, IL a few times a year.

HRIS Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert to employee to provide information and assist in problem resolution with benefit and policy related questions.
  • Ensure that HIPPA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored.
  • Conduct benefit orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system in HRIS.
  • Support annual benefit open enrollment process, including conducting benefit meetings, preparing, and updating all benefit materials.
  • Review, reconcile and audit all weekly/monthly/quarterly benefit invoices and data to ensure accurate payments and update benefit eligibility.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
  • Complete annual ACA filing.
  • Understand and manage benefit KPIs, assist in developing dashboard, identifying trends, and preparing benefit presentations.
  • Provide support including, but not limited to, employment changes, leaves of absence, and payroll functions.
  • Support special projects and initiatives of the HR department.
  • Assesses HRIS system and user utilization to help identify and recommend training, customization, and enhancements to maximize value and efficiency of the HRIS.
  • Develops and maintains standard and custom reports to meet the reporting requirements for all levels of the company, and ensures all reports are implemented in a timely manner using high-quality data presented in a logical and understandable format.
  • Lead HRIS related projects relating to system upgrades, modifications, enhancements, and integrations for existing applications, as well as new system implementations.
  • Provides ongoing assistance to users of HRIS systems and assists with developing and delivering user training.
  • Support the administration of our HR applications, including but not limited to role and security provisioning, data corrections as well as workflow reviews.
  • Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within the area of responsibility.

HRIS Job Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in benefit administration and HRIS management required.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws as it relates to benefit and leave administration.
  • Previous HRIS experience, UKG, with documented skills in HRIS data reporting and analytics.
  • Strong organization and communication (written and verbal).
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to improve processes.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle a variety of complex issues.
  • Self-driven, confident, and ethical.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain composure and appropriately make decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments and all levels across the company.
  • Solid analytical skills and ability to research, evaluate and make recommendation on benefits programs.

Education: Bachelor's in computer science or human resources is a plus.
