The cabinet is seeking to fill a Human Resource Administrator position within the Office of Administrative Services, Division of Human Resources Management, Human Resources Administration Branch. This position requires knowledge of all aspects of Kentucky state government personnel, payroll, time management and organizational management functions.
The preferred candidate for this position will demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, analyze problems, communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing and work cooperatively with a team.

The cabinet is seeking to fill a Human Resource Administrator position within the Office of Administrative Services, Division of Human Resources Management, Human Resources Administration Branch. This position requires knowledge of all aspects of Kentucky state government personnel, payroll, time management and organizational management functions.

Job duties include:
- Reviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations to the appointing authority for personnel actions utilizing statutes and regulations to ensure compliance. Ensures accurate, timely entry of personnel actions into the Kentucky Human Resource Information System (KHRIS). Provides technical assistance and guidance to employees and managers regarding personnel matters.
- Prepares and processes payroll for assigned employee groups. Ensures payroll is processed properly, accurately and within defined time frames to successfully meet the semi-monthly payroll cycle and to ensure accurate and timely deductions for employees. Ensures payouts or deferrals at separation are calculated correctly and processed within scheduled payroll cycle.
- Provides technical assistance to employee’s and management regarding health/life insurance, flexible spending benefits, worker’s comp benefits, COBRA and other employee benefits. Ensures accurate timely execution of these benefits into the KHRIS system.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in Kentucky state government merit system personnel or payroll administration or Kentucky governmental employee benefits administration.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis. Prior military experience will only substitute if the individual received an honorable discharge, discharge under honorable conditions, or a general discharge.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
