Summary:

Reporting to the HR Director, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will provide strategic direction to our West Texas region. The successful candidate will be working collaboratively to establish business relationships, providing support, coaching and advice to managers and employees on human relations matters.

This position will also provide direction in HR policy and procedure development and will be a key contributor to our winning teams values to support the company’s high-performance culture and business growth needs. This position will appeal to a motivated individual that has diverse experience in all facets of HR. based in our Midland, TX office with travel required to our field locations in the US.

Schedule:

  • This position holds normal business hours, travel to field locations is expected.
  • We support a hybrid work environment consisting of flexible remote and in-person collaboration.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support management within the assigned client group as well as back up for other regions, by providing HR direction, advice, and counsel on employee relation matters, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and provincial laws.
  • Partner and provide coaching to managers on retention, training and development, performance management, investigations, and organizational structure planning.
  • Support frontline employees by responding to routine requests, identifying issues, and providing advice and guidance.
  • Participate and lead projects related to workforce planning, competency development, benefits and compensation, talent management, and other engagement initiatives.
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition to execute recruitment plans and compensation for hourly and salaried roles that align with the company’s continued growth trajectory.
  • Provide support for scheduling candidates for pre-employment testing, establishing timelines and tracking candidates through the process, providing updates to hiring leaders.
  • Support and enable the achievement of business strategies by providing proactive insights based on people and organizational strengths and constraints.
  • Analysis of region’s HR metrics and implementation of creative solutions and action plans to drive results.
  • Investigate employee issues, lead performance management initiatives, and corrective action plans.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in human resources or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources capacity.
  • Highly developed critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to HR practices and legislation in US is a requirement.
  • Prior labor relations experience and/or education is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas industry as well as experience with startups or high growth companies is considered an asset.
  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills with the ability to act knowledgeably and diplomatically at all levels.
  • Self-motivated team player with high energy and ability to work independently and contribute to a high performing team that has strong collaboration, communication, and expertise.
  • Proven track record of delivering results by demonstrating the ability to act with a strong sense of urgency and excellent communication.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in managing and delivering the talent agenda for an innovative and high growth organization.
  • Change management experience and proven success in planning, leading, and implementing human resources initiatives and large projects.
