The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR management in supporting the operation. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

§ Maintains safe practices and procedures.

§ Responsible for entering employee data in the HRIS System

§ Process payroll on a weekly basis and verifies reports prior to posting payroll.

§ Assist and trains HRIS users in the timekeeping and payroll approval process.

§ Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.

§ Has an understanding and is able to effectively communicate policies and procedures.

§ FMLA Administrator

§ Workers Compensation Administrator

§ Completes Unemployment claims in a timely manner.

§ Assists with hourly annual performance evaluation process.

§ Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.

§ Assists with recruitment efforts temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations.

§ Assists with employee relations counseling, including outplacement counseling utilizing EAP.

§ Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.

§ Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.

§ Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

§ Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Basic Qualifications

§ A minimum of 2 years progressive HR experience with at least 2 years in a manufacturing operation.

§ Effective communication skills, including verbal (logical and organized), written, listening and presentation.

§ Willingness to support a 24/7 performance-driven manufacturing operation.

§ Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter

§ Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple demands to meet tight deadlines

Desired Qualifications

§ Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field or equivalent experience.

§ PHR or SPHR

§ Bilingual in Spanish

Work Environment

§ This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

We have four manufacturing facilities located in OH, IL, IA, and WI. We provide products to many national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, club and mass stores, as well as industrial accounts including other food manufacturers.

This position is based out of our Beaver Dam, WI location.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
