This position will serve as a Junior Classification Analyst for the Office of the Secretary Human Resources Office (OOS-HR). It will be trained to perform advanced level classification and compensation work. It will report to the Classification ad Compensation Manager for OOS-HR. Under the guidance of the Class and Comp Manager, this position's job responsibilities include the following:
- Conduct classification/compensation studies
- Work with management to make recommendations regarding organizational structure design
- Provide consultation to management and employees on classification/compensation issues
- Create OM spreadsheets
- Initiate and process OM/PA actions in the HR/Payroll System
- Run reports and analyze data to provide information to management and make recommendations

About the DHHS Human Resources Division:
The Division of Human Resources is responsible for strategic and tactical human capital management within DHHS including compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations affecting employee relations, recruitment/ selection, job evaluation, salary administration, benefits, workers’ compensation, safety, and core staff development.
The Office of the Secretary Human Resources Office (OOS-HR) provides comprehensive HR services and support to 13 divisions made up of approximately 1,200 positions and employees, which includes executive leadership and other administrative divisions of DHHS. The work is complex and dynamic as a result of the types of divisions supported by OOS-HR. This office is committed to providing essential human resource services to Division Directors, their management teams and staff; and provides a full range of human resources services to include HR Consultation, Recruitment, Salary Administration, Safety and Health, Performance Management, Employee Relations, and Health Benefits Administration.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated working knowledge of State HR systems and processes.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Salary administration.
- Working knowledge of federal and state laws, and State policies, procedures, and practices.
- Experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
- Ability to be able to learn and apply rules, procedures, and practices for various human resources management activities or personnel actions.
Management Preferences:
- Knowledge of compensation and salary administration practices
- Knowledge of SAP-based applications specific to the state’s HR/Payroll System
- Experience in applying State HR Policies and Procedures
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Associate's degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience required
