The JED Foundation is seeking an experienced translational researcher to join our Design and Impact team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and refining system-level suicide prevention programming. The role will be critical in defining measurement and implementation of programming to enhance evaluation and impact efforts.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in implementation science, program design, and evaluation in the youth and young adult mental health. The ability to collaborate in a matrixed organization, lead program direction, build collaborative partnerships cross functionally and lead long term strategic direction are important to this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to design/refine system-level suicide prevention programming for varied contexts, such as school districts, high school, and higher education institutions.
  • Develop logic models, measurement frameworks, and program evaluation plans.
  • Translate and apply research/empirical data into design to improve implementation and associated outcomes.
  • Develop program implementation plans, including identifying implementation strategies and methods, setting implementation goals, and monitoring implementation progress.
  • Support program evaluation activities, including data collection, data analysis, and reporting
  • Collaborate with other members of the research team and program staff to ensure that programs are implemented with fidelity and in accordance with best practices.
  • Stay current with research and best practices in implementation science, program design and evaluation, and related fields.
  • Collaborate with other members of the research team on grant applications and research projects.
  • Write and publish research articles and reports, and present findings at conferences and other events.
  • Provide mentorship and thought leadership in the Design and Impact team.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Masters in Health Services Research, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field; PhD preferred.
  • Formalized training/course work in implementation science or translational research.
  • 7+ years of experience in program design and evaluation, implementation science, or a related field.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R).
  • Knowledge of implementation science frameworks (e.g., CFIR, RE-AIM, PARIHS).
  • Knowledge of program evaluation methodologies (e.g., hybrid trials, CRTs, quasi-experimental designs, mixed-methods).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in presenting research findings to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization is preferred.
  • Passion for young adult mental health and alignment with JED’s Guiding Principles and Shared Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Antiracism.

Pay Ranges / Location / Travel Information

Pay Ranges:
The range listed on this job posting is based on JED's compensation posting ranges. Salaries may be higher or lower depending on experience and geographic location.

Location/Travel Information:
Please note that this position is largely remote but will require retreat/business meetings at JED’s central office in NYC or other locations as designated by JED leadership. Additional travel may be required.
