Job Description
- The purpose of this position is secure getting Import – Export conditions ready to ramp up a new factory in compliance with applicable regulations and on time for project needs; to stabilize and standardize processes that supports operations with timely, efficient, and compliant deliveries allowing the factory to deliver what is needed when is needed and keep our brand protected.
Core Responsibilities:
- Obtain FTZ approval and required permits to perform import and export operations in a compliant and efficient matter that enable the factory to operate according to the strategy and operating model defined by the LEGO Group for US. While collaborating with authorities, internal and external partners across different Business Units.
- To secure a strong foundation in Import-Export processes that supports timely, efficient, and compliant deliveries. Processes needs that are according to company strategy, operating model, and company standards, to make this possible will require collaboration with local, regional, and global partners, internal and external across different Business Units and with different specialties such Customs, Tax, Transport, IT, (Facilities and Factory Project team due ramp up) and others, also be part of the Global Shipping Network.
- Secure and implement software systems to support daily compliant operations with strong collaboration with Customs, Transport, and IT teams within the company.
- Responsible to have an Import-Export team with strong hard and soft skills that enable the business continuity. Act as tactical team leader.
- Manage the import – export relation with US Customs Brokers that will support the operation, transport companies and other relevant 3rd parties, having in place the performance indicators and way of working that enable stability for the business.
- Responsible in daily basis to identify, inform and act upon risks until are mitigated. Escalate when is needed to next level in the organization according to the situation at hand.
- Improve proactively processes, through proposing improvement ideas, doing questions, testing assumptions, increasing use of software solutions and Mapping methodology with a mindset of simplification, to prevent errors and at the same time maintaining or even increasing quality on deliverables.
- Support investigations, audits, or disclosures regarding the company's International Trade compliance activities.
- Provide Trade Compliance Training for all site personnel as needed.
- Maintain all Trade Compliance recordkeeping as mandated by CBP.
- Stay current in International Trade Compliance regulations to assess company impact / opportunity.
Are you up for the challenge?
- Experience working in US Customs brokers agencies coordinating import – export deliveries for FTZs manufacturing sites.
- Knowlegde of US Customs & FTZ Regulations, Free Trade Agreements with US, and benefits, CTPAT, HTS US Classification, International Logistics, International and Domestic Transport.
- Certifications in US Customs Compliance and related regulation C-TPAT.
