Who We Are Seeking

AHCCS is seeking a student focused, passionate, and motivating ICA Teacher to join our school and assist students achieve growth in STEM topics.

The ICA Teacher will be responsible for:

• Lead multiple classes of students in daily lessons focused on STEM topics.
• Design interactive and motivational activities to fully engage participants and to reinforce student learning.
• Update materials periodically, and regularly monitor course evaluations to improve curriculum.
• Respond to student needs and questions.
• Create a high-performance environment in which students of diverse backgrounds are motivated to succeed.
• Apply technology and leverage resources appropriately to enhance curriculum.
• Contact students and/or parents/guardians of students who are struggling and/or not completing assignments before their due dates.
• Communicate with Director of Education Technology and plan curriculum.
• Participate as a proctor with state and local assessments.

Position Type: Full-Time, 10-month, Exempt position

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient use of technology including Blackboard Collaborate, Microsoft Office Suite, and Internet.
• Ability to create fun and stimulating class projects.
• Ability to multitask and effectively manage time under pressure.
• Evidence of experience teaching STEM Education.
• Deep understanding of Next Gen Science Standards and Common Core State Standards for Pennsylvania.
• Excellent content knowledge in computer science, engineering and design topics, and/or digital fabrication.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor's degree and PA Teaching certificate in any STEM Content-Area. Multiple Certificates is a plus. Previous experience working in a Cyber School environment is a positive factor!

Required Certificates/Clearances: Child abuse and criminal background clearances are required, including Act 168 Disclosure/Release. Must also complete Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training.
