Sign on bonus: $5000 ($2500 paid at 3 months, $2500 paid at 12 months)

OVERVIEW: The Installation Technician will be primarily involved with the installation, service, and preventative maintenance of Handicare products in all kinds of health care facilities throughout the US. This is an ENTRY LEVEL construction position, no experience required other than a willingness to learn a new skill.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for on-site installations, commissioning, and coordination of Handicare products in their entirety.
- Arrange site storage for products and materials as needed for installation projects.
- Coordinate installations with customer and project manager.
- Construction related activities including but limited to reading blueprints, layouts, measuring, cut, drill, assemble and install all lift system components according to Handicare standards.
- Perform load tests on the installed track and test operation of lift equipment.
- Coordinate with the supervisor to advise of daily site progress and work through any issues encountered.
- Maintain the company vehicle in good operating condition and cleanliness.
- Daily travel to different jobsite in accordance with schedule.
- Accurate and regular expense reporting.
- Additional responsibilities as requested by supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
COMPETENCIES:
- Basic knowledge and experience in construction, building, hardware, and installations is preferred.
- Competency with various construction tools needed to complete a successful installation (hammer drill, chop saw, band saw, hand tools, tape measure, line lasers, etc.) is preferred.
- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and scissors lifts for extended periods of time.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to assemble hardware & components.
- Able to read and interpret written information, construction drawings and room layouts.
- Able to travel out of town occasionally for periods up to 3 weeks.
- Valid Driver’s License with minimal infractions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situation to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:
- OSHA 10 Hour Certification required
- A valid U.S. Driver’s License with minimal driving infractions.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Windows applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee will frequently stand, walk, stoop, climb, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to lift, move or push up to 50 lbs.
TRAVEL:
- Ability to travel out of town occasionally; for periods up to 3 weeks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position works in an environment with loud noise levels. This position may frequently work near moving parts, be exposed to vibration and be exposed to airborne particles & dust. This position will occasionally work in high, precarious places and be exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
