TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 185 days/year, 7 hours/day
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Instructional Assistant is
- Under the supervision of the teacher and administrator, provide supplemental instruction to small student groups and/or provide one-on-one tutoring of students.
- Plan and consult with teachers and administrators.
- Foster a positive and healthy learning environment that promotes diversity
- Assist with testing/screening of students.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
- Assist students during recess, lunch, transitions to various activities, to and from transportation when arriving and leaving school.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Must submit to criminal history check and fingerprinting
- Will need to meet the criteria for “No Child Left Behind Act” set by law, and also complete all of the requirements under the state of Oregon statutes, rules and regulations that apply to these NCLB requirements
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or OHA exception required prior to starting work. If you meet the criteria, new employee’s exceptions can acquire OHA exceptions through the district. Employees with exceptions must test for COVID weekly.
