INSURANCE BILLING/COLLECTION SPECIALIST

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

We are looking for a self-driven and competent Billing/Collection Specialist to join our Team!

The ideal candidate for this position is able to work as part of a dynamic team responsible for managing and collecting the outstanding accounts receivables while providing service on a more personal level with respect, accountability and quality using outstanding customer service skills to meet the needs of those we serve.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Monitor accounts on a daily basis
• Identify outstanding accounts receivables
• Research and resolve billing issues, denials, and past due accounts
• Communicate with insurance companies and patients to discuss outstanding payments
• Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss with Management
• Electronic claims submission
• Eligibility and benefits verification

Education and Other Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, especially Word and Excel.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of coding rules and guidelines and ability to appropriately interpret Explanation of Benefits and Remits
• Two or more years of healthcare billing/collections experience. **Prior OB/GYN Billing or collections experience a plus
