Position Overview:

The Interim Worship Director will be responsible for scheduling modern worship songs and musicians for the Sunday morning worship service. This role includes leading music during the Sunday service and conducting rehearsals on Thursday nights. The Interim Worship Director will also be involved in recruiting and training new musicians as required. The church utilizes an in-ear monitor system and leverages the playback app for metronome and backing tracks as well as MIDI cues. We use Planning Center to schedule songs and musicians. The congregation enjoys a blend of modern worship songs and one hymn per week, including modern versions of traditional hymns. The ideal candidate will lead the team in a worshipful service, foster relationships, and provide encouragement. It is highly desirable for the interim worship director to possess the ability to recruit and train musicians from among the youth group, and have good rapport with youth.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule songs and musicians in a timely manner for Sunday services.
• Lead rehearsals and the Sunday morning worship service, creating an atmosphere conducive to worship.
• Recruit and train new worship team members as needed.
• Collaborate weekly with the teaching pastor and production director to plan services effectively.
• Foster positive morale and relationship building within the worship team.
• Prepare playback app and MIDI cues for Sunday morning service to ensure a seamless worship experience.
• Manage the worship budget, including purchasing of tracks.
• BONUS: Recruit and train musicians from among the youth group, fostering their talents and spiritual growth.

Requirements:

• Ability to lead worship and confidently engage the congregation from the stage.
• Demonstrated proficiency in both vocals and lead instrument.
• Well-versed in playing modern worship music and staying up-to-date with current trends.
• Possesses strong leadership skills, encouraging team members and embracing a discipleship mindset.
• Proficiency in using Planning Center, in-ear monitor systems, playback app, and working with guide/tracks.
• Background in youth ministry or the ability to relate well to youth is preferred.

Compensation:

The Interim Worship Director will receive a compensation rate of $14-18 per hour for 10 hours per week. 3-month minimum commitment required.
