This role drives sales and agency owner revenue through financial services and life insurance products. By providing key sales knowledge, training, and expertise to an assigned territory of managers and producers, this role is critical in the growth of agency revenue and the overall success of Farmers Agency Owners. Uses in-depth knowledge of core product offerings to consult on complex customer scenarios, answer challenging questions, and resolve problems, and business issues via phone or written/electronic communication. Directs financial services and life insurance product sales by earning the trust and confidence of agency owners to identify their customers most urgent needs and concerns related to their financial and insurance goals. Serves as the primary contact point for field leaders, district managers, agency owners and staff to build and maximize the agency relationship for the Company. Creates and provides business plans, sales goals, and training of products and concepts for the agents.
Advises agents on complex customer scenarios for financial services and life insurance that includes day-to-day sales and servicing requests. Provide sales and product strategies, information, materials, and current market information to agency owners for their customers. Responsible for handling escalated problems to full resolution. Utilizes knowledge of technical information about the FFS process, products, and related procedures to answer questions and resolve problems for agents. Maintains a sales pipeline of upcoming agency owner cases and assists agency owners in sales process. Utilizes consultative skills to train on products, services, and technology to achieve agent objectives. Trains agency owners to educate them on FFS products, concepts, sales strategies, and tools on how to position the products and concepts in their agencies. Creates and conducts training webinars in assigned territories. Develops advanced knowledge of finance, investments and compliance to support agency owners understanding of mutual funds, packaged securities products (annuities), individual retirement products, small business retirement products, variable universal life insurance products, wealth transfer products, voluntary benefits and broker-dealer services. Develops and maintains knowledge of FFS products and marketing/sales strategies and proper maintenance of accounts. Engages in approved training opportunities to develop necessary technical knowledge of products and services offered. Coordinates territory communication. Regularly communicates with Field Leaders, District Managers and District staff to discuss territory related matters involving product emphasis and positioning, special marketing efforts, industry news, and special issues that affect products and sales. Records information about industry competitors, segmentation and contact activity, maintaining up-to-date data for use within sales, agent engagementand business analytics team. Tracks all telephone and sales activity using internal company systems. Makes appropriate follow-up contacts as necessary. Understands and interfaces with various systems in order to provide efficient service in account lookup, problem resolution, and data record keeping. Handles more complex and sensitive issues relating to accounts/data and ensures corrective action is handled to conclusion. Leads and participates in conference calls and staff meetings to provide information about activities, challenges, and accomplishments. Identifies and shares system enhancements and process improvement ideas. Leads process improvement changes and partners with stakeholders to ensure execution. Works closely with stakeholders to support sales/services programs and to assure consistency of message. May perform more complex quality checks and ensures a full review process. Ensures policy and process documents are timely and published.
This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Prior education with an emphasis in finance or economics preferred. FINRA Series 6, 63, are required. Pursuing major insurance designations such as ChFC/CLU preferred. FINRA Series 26 and State insurance license preferred.
Minimum three years experience working in the financial services or insurance industry required. Three or more years experience in a client or agent interfacing role preferred.

- Interpersonal communication skills necessary to influence sales.
- Ability to communicate clearly over the telephone.
