Position Summary:

Cycle count and maintain AS400 system inventory to reflect accurate on hand balances. Assists production, scheduling and QA by performing daily audits of ingredients, packaging, finished goods, commodities and label items for daily production needs. Investigate variances and report discrepancies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cycle count using the ABC method. Cycle count ingredients, packaging, finished goods and labels as directed. Make adjustments as needed to AS400 to maintain accurate inventory records
  • Research significant inventory variances by examining bills of material, receipts, shipments, transfers, production usage, etc. Work closely with various departments. Supply production department heads with daily progress reports
  • Communicate any variances to appropriate personnel while adhering to company policy on approval levels
  • Backup to enter daily production into Legacy ensuring finished goods and WIPS reported are accounted for
  • Auditing the NIL, PRD and 999 locations and correcting inventory in these locations on a daily basis. Count PRD locations and enter label counts into JDE. Provide daily listing of all drums and/or totes of batched product to production
  • Perform aisle audits checking the accuracy of each location in the warehouse
  • Investigates and reconciles customer shortage complaints
  • Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controls
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Travel may be required

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • 1 or more years of experience
  • Inventory and warehousing experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be computer literate, experience in office software applications such as Microsoft Office and AS400 helpful
  • Must have excellent math skills
  • Problem solving skills are necessary, as well as good written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of being forklift licensed/certified for sit down forklift and aerial lift


Physical Demands:

Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may be required.


Work Environment:

In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed. May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards. May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
