Position Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages inventory records and maintains inventory control.
- Coordinates warehouse operations.
- Maintains inventory in stock and reorders as needed.
- Submits purchase requests.
- Loads and unload truck.
- Maintains warehouse.
- Operates a forklift.
- Delivers materials to workers in the field.
- Picks up materials from suppliers.
- Communicates and coordinates with vendors.
- Monitors phones and front counter in the absence of the Administrative Project Coordinator.
- Performs other related duties assigned.
- Knowledge of city and departmental policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles.
- Knowledge of customer service principles.
- Knowledge of city purchasing policy.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
- Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.

- The purpose of this position is to receive and issue materials while maintaining accurate inventory records. Successful performance contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of a variety of department operations.
- Contacts are typically with co-workers, other city employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.
- Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, resolve problems, and provide services.
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladders, and distinguishes between shades of color.
- The work is performed in a stockroom, warehouse, or outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. Work may require the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to three years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
