Addison Group, in partnership with an East San Fernando Valley Transportation company, seeks a Revenue Accountant on an interim basis. This role will be on an interim basis of at least two (2) months. Our client will hire the person after a suitable time.

Job – This Inventory Accounting Manager will be overseeing all inventory accounting functions for the company. The hired person will also be involved in all cost accounting matters and in all audit matters. You will report to a Controller and an Assistant Controller.

Job Site Status (Remote/Mixed/Onsite) - The role is a hybrid status role for those hired on our client’s payroll (three (3) days/week onsite).

DUTIES OF THE INVENTORY ACCOUNTING MANAGER (INTERIM)

Inventory Accounting

• Supervise and participate in all month-end closes involving inventory issues
• Input Journal Entries and Account Reconciliations into the General Ledger (G/L) as it involves inventory and fixed asset issues
• Support all other accounting personnel in physical inventory counts, including shrink counts
• Ensure all inventory counting and fixed asset assessment procedures follow all relevant internal control systems
• Research all possible solutions to improve inventory accounting processes, including ways to reduce shrink counts
• Analyze variances in inventory (raw materials, finished goods) between stated and actual counts, including using the FIFO accounting method
• Analyze product profitability, overhead, and sales channels (i.e., Gross Margin Analysis for a multi-entity, channel, region, and product mix environment)
• Prepare Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s: inventory flux analysis, days of supply, and inventory turns) and record costs for raw materials and finished goods
• Contribute to the COGS and inventory budget

Miscellaneous

• Support external auditors as needed
• Maintain a SOX compliant environment
• Develop processes in compliance with ASC-330, in accordance with GAAP
• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE INVENTORY ACCOUNTING MANAGER (INTERIM)

Required

• At least five (5) years of inventory accounting experience
• BA in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or an equivalent major
• Significant full-cycle inventory and fixed assets accounting experience
• General Ledger (G/L) reconciliations
• Prior employment at a publicly traded company

Preferred

• Work experience in a manufacturing and/or a distribution environment
• CPA

• Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, and IF formulas)
• Proficiency in NetSuite
