GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs one or more information technology functions, which may be technical, operational, process oriented or project oriented. Under general supervision and with very little functional guidance, utilizes proficiency in one or more information technology disciplines to conceive and implement solutions for assigned project tasks and process steps. May identify technical, process, or business issues and generate realistic alternatives for resolution. Contributes technical, process, or business expertise and experience-based guidance and leadership to team members. This position is responsible for supporting all IT functions within the four walls. This ranges from programming, networking, customer service and all other similarly related IT functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Associates at this level are expected to have command of core IT processes which allow them to leverage their base technical, operational, process or project skills to achieve objectives that may be broadly stated as opposed to well defined.

· Plan, controlling, organizing assigned tasks to meet team goals and objectives.

· Continuously updates skills and knowledge of new technology, equipment, services and methods through self-study, formal training, magazines and journals, contacts with corporate ISD, vendors and interaction with American Greetings associates. Prepares to assume position of increased responsibility within American Greetings.

· Coordinate and conduct if necessary, the training of personnel involved in the operation of data processing equipment, and the execution of the procedures in a new system.Required Education:

Four year college degree in MIS/Computer Science or equivalent.

· Course work required in programming, network design, database design, data structures, operating systems and/or system analysis

· Skills representing mastery in verbal and written communications.

· Plant and project management experience including managerial, continuous improvement, and system re-design techniques.

Required Length & Type of Experience:

3 Years in Entry Level IT Position

During this assignment the incumbent would learn about American Greetings, corporate America, and the day-to-day activities of his/her plant or distribution center. Successful candidate would be with the processes occurring at their plant, and begin solving problems and improving processes. The incumbent will have an understanding of the entire process within their plant, and to begin to see its significance within the American Greetings organization as a whole.
