A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A JOB DEVELOPER

n

As a Job Developer with our human services nonprofit, you have the opportunity to positively impact your community. This employment coordinator's position objective is to achieve monthly job placement goals by working closely with our case managers to place clients in quality, long-term, unsubsidized jobs. In order to do this, you maintain strong relationships with the business community and leverage these relationships to create a pipeline of job openings for our clients. Each day as an employment coordinator, you conduct cold calls and foot prospects to potential employers while identifying businesses that are currently hiring. While building these relationships, you are able to see which companies are willing to offer preferential treatment to Fedcap customers. You also develop trusted working relationships with assigned TANF customers. Your people skills are also used to conduct interviews with clients to understand their needs, and doing so helps you to realize the best way each client should be presented to potential employers. Prior to placement, you facilitate the successful utilization of job readiness training, rapid job searching, job retention services, and education services for each client. You guide clients through a learn-by-doing process during their service planning and delivery. You monitor customer engagement and progress up through our client's first year of employment.

Working in this job placement role gives you the chance to participate in collaborative training and the ability to design recruitment strategies for hiring fairs, onsite employer visits, and other informational sessions. You observe all policies and procedures while attending all required training and certifications as scheduled. Using your great organizational skills, you review DHS-administered assessments, develop and amend Customers' Detailed Individual Responsibility Plans (DIRPs), and help customers achieve their employment goals. Diligently, you verify and report all aspects of customer milestone achievements to DHS. You also document activities, participation, compliance, and employment progress in the Electronic Case Management (ECM) systems. Because you are detail-oriented, you assist in compiling data for reports, including but not limited to, customer timesheets and placements, along with retention reports. You also perform other related duties as assigned. In doing so, you feel a sense of pride because you are aware of the help this employment coordinator position offers. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A JOB DEVELOPER

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • n
  • 3+ years experience conducting job development and employment placement
  • n
  • Covid-19 vaccination
