Laboratory Director

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Laboratory Director to lead our laboratory team. As the Laboratory Director, you will oversee the operations of the laboratory department and ensure that all laboratory testing services are performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and protocols for laboratory operations and quality control
• Ensure laboratory compliance with state and federal regulations, including CLIA and CAP accreditation standards
• Manage laboratory budget, including expenses for supplies, equipment, and personnel
• Hire, train, and supervise laboratory staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and high-quality work performance
• Ensure laboratory equipment and supplies are properly maintained, calibrated, and serviced
• Monitor laboratory performance metrics and quality indicators, and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other departments to ensure timely and accurate laboratory testing services
• Maintain and review laboratory records and reports, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of test results
• Stay up-to-date on advances in laboratory technology and techniques, and recommend new laboratory services and equipment as appropriate

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
• Active certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification
• Minimum of five years of laboratory management or supervisory experience, including experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding of laboratory regulations and accreditation standards, including CLIA and CAP
• Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR) preferred
